I waved at a jeep the other day. I came across a bunch or guys in a jeep commander stopped at the top of a rough section a trail trying to figure out how they where going to get down it. As I drove around and headed down the roughest part, I gave then a good old JEEP WAVE. They had this dumbfounded look on there faces like "what the hell was that"

You have to see the Subie wave. I must get 20 waves a day in my STi.

I have had 2 Jeeps and never was I waved at but I am much more familiar with the VX stare - gauk- jaw drop- wide eyed look that I get daily.

Just to add to the weird waving topic....

Anyone who drives or who has ever driven an STi or an EVO, may have noticed that crotchrockets will also wave or give the helmet nod to you. It's one of those "across the isle handshakes" out of rocket respect.

If I had a Jeep, I'd most likely just get some kind of bobble-head hand to do all my waving for me. I mean, with SO many of them on the roads these days, that much time off of the steering wheel couldn't possibly be safe.

During my sportbike days, I always wondered just how many of those Harley riders who were too good to wave back at me because I was on a "Jap bike" actually knew how many parts from China and Japan were on their "American made" bikes, or in what country their Harley t-shirts and other miscellaneous riding garb was actually made. (That my bike(s) weren't American made was the usual condescending reasoning I got for getting no respect anyway.)

And IMO, elistist = safety in numbers, because it hasn't escaped my attention that your usual elitist only considers someone else cool if they're behaving in the same manner as said elitist, which in principle, actually renders said elitist just another member of the crowd of elitists. Funny how that works out sometimes.

HAHAHA I love the bobblehead imagery! The elitist scenario you mention tho, I am pondering... I'm probably just looking for a way to disagree with you. Cheers!

Like Syndrome said: "Once everyone is super........no one will be."

If everyone is an elitist snob about the same thing, then they cease to be elitist (or unique) and become one of the braying pack.

Man, what is wrong with us? Lot of "Incredibles" quotes going on in this thread, or maybe I read this earlier and it lodged in my brain somewhere......and I thought that I was being original. Looks like I'm just one of the crowd.

I think the "rules" with bikers are bogus. I ride a custom bike and I'll wave to ANYONE on two wheels; sport bikes, dirt bikes, mopeds, etc. (sometimes even bicyclists). It's one big two wheeled brotherhood so why we got to be hate'n on one another?

As for the "jeep wave"? That's just silly. Like it's some "exclusive" club? You might as well just drive around with your arm out the window in a permanent wave since you'll be passing another jeep every few feet, or so.
