Just to add to the weird waving topic....
Anyone who drives or who has ever driven an STi or an EVO, may have noticed that crotchrockets will also wave or give the helmet nod to you. It's one of those "across the isle handshakes" out of rocket respect.![]()

If I had a Jeep, I'd most likely just get some kind of bobble-head hand to do all my waving for me. I mean, with SO many of them on the roads these days, that much time off of the steering wheel couldn't possibly be safe.
During my sportbike days, I always wondered just how many of those Harley riders who were too good to wave back at me because I was on a "Jap bike" actually knew how many parts from China and Japan were on their "American made" bikes, or in what country their Harley t-shirts and other miscellaneous riding garb was actually made. (That my bike(s) weren't American made was the usual condescending reasoning I got for getting no respect anyway.)
And IMO, elistist = safety in numbers, because it hasn't escaped my attention that your usual elitist only considers someone else cool if they're behaving in the same manner as said elitist, which in principle, actually renders said elitist just another member of the crowd of elitists. Funny how that works out sometimes.![]()
