Actually, this is not so true. Older GM trucks required a bigger bore size because of locking hubs on solid axles, ala Dana 44. When GM trucks went IFS in '88, the design required hub-centric wheels or vibration could occur, this is why they shrunk the hub bore size. Certain newer GM stuff might work now too! Not sure yet... I have been considering a 2nd wheel/tire combo and have been looking at H3 rollers on eBay for awhile. The Hummer H3, GMC Canyon, and Chevy Colorado all share parts, and their rims may be an option for us. These chassis require a wheel with a bigger bore (minimum 4-3/16" or 96.8 mm) compared to the normal Chevy hubs (78.3 mm) which are a hub-centric setup. Apparently, the H3 guys have been running into trouble trying to use the normal GM aftermarket wheel options because the stock H3 wheels have a 110 mm bore size! If our rigs have been using wheels with a 108 mm bore we may have a slurry of new candidates on the way because of the popularity of these GM vehicles! These might look cool on a VX: http://www.adv4x4.com/h3tw16inwhwi.html My kind of bling!

nah im pretty sure bimatis problems were from his lift and CV issues.. he put something like 35k miles per year on his VX so once a problem started they went downhill fast from all the miles

    edit

found the old thread.. he offset his wheels way out (the 2in spacers..) which meant he had to crank the T-bars waaaay up which tore his CVs.. which after 40k miles of dirt and stuff in there.. destroyed the axles

As sure as I said I was... But what kind of problems could the wheels cause? If they fit, they fit; if they don't, they don't... and if they don't, you couldn't mount them. Do you know something we don't?

spacers that were used to make the wheels "fit"? I just always got the impression that it was because of that.

That would be great news if we were able to look at more of a rim selection though.

That could be, I guess, if they were poorly made spacers they could cause problems. The only thing that concerns me somewhat about the H3 wheels IS the offset. They are 7.5" wide with a 38mm offset. I tried to get an eBay seller here in Salt Lake to let me test fit one months ago to no avail.
