And here's an add-on if anyone is interested. Last summer a friend and I worked to gain access to the Glove Mine (he now owns the claim) which is on Bull Springs Road. This is where we stopped the first time 9 years ago and did all the driving in that "pit" thing. The mine would be a great early stop for snacks, and if anyone wants to see the mine I can arrange it. The mine is gated, and over 300 feet deep. The second level needs to be climbed on a 100' welded steel ladder, but we could see the upper area with no worries. If some want to go deeper then we'd need to work out the logistics. The Glove Mine was a silver/zinc/copper type mine, but it became famous in the 1940's for Wulfenite Crystals. Anyhow, that's just a suggestion to add more excitement to the day. I can provide more info if you want it.
