Thanks again Sue! My VX scored off the chart (in the right way), and it's nice to have that info. See you in Moab!

x2Only got a CarFax on my VX since I bought it before we learned the hard way that it's a total POS. Honestly I've been hesitant to run my AutoCheck because I was just sure that I would find something (no real reason to suspect it, just figured it was my luck). It was great to come up clean!
Thanks again Sue, now time to start running the other 78 Foxfire VINs.![]()
Thanks Sue!
Great to have this and the Carfax that I ran when I purchased the VX. Gives me a well-rounded picture of the vehicle history.

It's available until 5/10 so I'll keep bumping this thread so anybody interested can contact me.
I got what I needed to know out of it....the jerk cabbie that hit me in Las Vegas is there.![]()
Thanks to you Ashley (and your posts about your frame damage problem on the Honda) I've learned more about these reports......just because something's not listed, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.....(negative evidence)

AutoCheck gets its info from the master insurance claim database that all auto carriers use to track accidents, fraud, history of coverage, etc. AC also gets info from each state's DMV on anything that was reported to the police. CarFax gets NO information from that insurance database, and at last check only received info from 30-ish state DMVs. But both do also receive information from dealerships, body shops, emissions testers, etc. The additional insurance database info is what makes AutoCheck a much better bet than CarFax.
That said, lasturbo is correct, if you flip your car over in a field, get Joe Bob to tow it out with his tractor before the police show up, then pay to have it fixed yourself, it likely will never show up on one of these reports unless the guy at the body shop decides to go out of his way to report it.
