Ryan--- I believe the focus of this thread is for alternate illumination choices for faulty VX license plate lights (without having to do DeerMagnet's complicated rebuild method). The bullet lights described by VX-KAT, JCWhitney's "LED Light Bar" (for license plate illumination), and various License Plate frames that have a built-in light at the top that shines down on the plate itself (not reverse lights).
I went ahead and clicked-on your link, and this is a License Plate Frame that has built-in "Back-Up" lights (LED's) for REVERSE ONLY, but the frame doesn't illuminate your license plate while travelng down the road.
After reading many of the reviews by customer's, the Reverse Light Frame product has many flaws. Extremely poor workmanship quality, doesn't last long (< 2 years), and obstructs most license tab stickers. It seems to be best mounted inverted (upsidedown) with the lights on the bottom of the plate, so the thick framing doesn't obscure the license tab stickers. It might be cool to have a seperate switch wired to the frame, so that you could "blind" tail-gaters that like to ride your @ss in traffic, while at the same time telling them to back-off. Just a thought.
