All I have to say, is that this whole discusson really depends on what type of games you like to play. Personally, I really don't like 3rd person type games (like MGS and even GTA to a certain extent). I am a PC gamer, first person shooter lover all the way. HL and CS are the greatest games of all time. For me, the console died when the old school platform games went away. That said, for console, driving and fighting games are all I can really get into. I've been playing Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection and I am loving it. I have been forcing myself to like GTA4, but that won't stop me from saying the controls and game play make me supereffingaggrevated. Why didn't they just make it first person or at least have a first person toggle with the ability to attach a keyboard and mouse? (Speaking of, can you attach a keyboard and mouse to the USB port on the PS3????).
The real problem I have with PC gaming is all the hacking, and all the handicaps (someone with a $15,000 PC vs someone with a $1500 PC). They NEED to make a console that you can go online with, and that works flawlessly with a keyboard and mouse, so FPS games can break through into the console realm, and level the playing field. I really don't understand how ANYONE can play a game like COD4 with a freaking joystick.

Bart is dead on! But there is hope for consoles in the FPS arena. This is an article I found awhile back that’s pretty interesting about a mouse and hand controller for the PS3.

You know, this morning I was thinking about what I said about 3rd person games, and I honestly have to take a step back and make mention of both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Both of those games went down in history as classics for me, especially Ico. I really can't wait to see what that company has in store for Shadow II.

Do you actually have one of those? I never saw one in real life... I thought they were just an elaborate joke, and didn't actually exist.
I pulled my old A1200 out of the closet to sell on ebay, and as a test fired up some of the games. There were some good ones out there (my &%$# Lemming disk is damaged, though!), but wow, does it look dated.
Incidently, the 1200 sold for quite a bit! I was suprised!
Reconsider that. Seriously. If nothing else, get Portal. It is relatively short and all kinds of fun.
For what it is worth, my 4-year degree took six years. I blame Doom, X-com, Rise of the Triad, Quake 2, and Command and Conquer.
Anyone remember Out of This World?

Oh yeah, that was one of my favorite SNES games. Really creepy and cool. I found the game rather difficult though, and I never made it too far. I should que it up on my SNES emulator and see if I can beat it.
Anyone remember "A Boy And His Blob" for regular NES?

PS - I'm at work right now, suffering through a Lotus Notes server that won't come up...![]()
