I sent them an email 3 weeks ago too and did not hear back so I resent it yesterday and have not heard back from them yet. I guess we could try calling again.

Sharon called a couple of days ago while I was out... Again ! :(
She is dealing with family (husband) health/surgery issues.
Message left said she would "hold' my room as per the mail I sent..
..and deal with formal booking etc as soon as she can.
Jo
She sent me the same message. I'm sure she'll hold room for any that have emailed or left msg.
Okay, I'll be patient.
She should put her email on autoreply so at least we know the message didn't get lost in the ether.
Thinking about making an appearance. Are there bypasses around extreme obstacles for mild off-roaders with original factory suspensions and wheels?
I took my Stock VX up last year, there are plenty of trails a stock VX can do and there are by passes too. The trails are all rated for difficulty and most of the group is familiar with the trails and can tell you which ones would be good for you.
Come and join us, it is a lot of fun.
YUP!!
X2 what Christine ( catfish) said :)
Trails of ALL levels available, everything from the mildest farm track...to extreme.
Many VX's with stock set ups have taken part..just discuss trails with those that know them..You'll be fine.
BUT..be aware.. be warned..be prepared .. to go home and start ordering new coils/bigger tires..etc etc..
..cause its infectious !
Jo
I received an Email from Sharon today regarding my room reservation. She's still there.
You'll be surprised what your stock VX is capable of.
The bylaws do not prohibit attendance by other makes of vehicle. Nor do they prohibit any specific type of warning device.
Appreciate the encouragement. Was considering either my good ole VX or brand new 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, ordered less than a week ago (if this dealer honors our agreed upon price). Went through ordering a 2014 Trailhawk in 2014, but walked away when that dealer decided he wanted more than the agreed upon price. Hate the car buying experience.
Will hand it to Jeep for honesty in advertising, though. In their promotional videos of Trailhawks on the Rubicon Trail, Lake Tahoe, California, you can clearly see one sustained damage to its front fascia, two 4" dents and a 6" tear, plus lots of front and side scrapes. I have no intention of scratching or denting my new set of wheels or my good ole VX.
Received email from Sharon today that she will be in office no later than Friday. Will be getting in touch with all soon.
I did too.
I will officially be thousands of miles away at this timeframe. But I'll be there in spirit. I wish I could say this was an exception, but it's been the same thing with my 3SGTO.org buddies & their national gathering. Work just always finds a way to take priority.
Is anyone driving I-15 past the Ogden area for this event? If I'm back by the tail end of this, I might be able to host an open-house for those who are passing through.
I just called and made a reservation from Friday-Sunday. I happen to be moving to Oklahoma from Chicago that next week so I'm really hoping to make it out for a couple of days with you guys! Question though, how often does stuff break (cvs, tie rods) and is it bad for the car to be going over rocks and stuff with torsion bars maxed? (I know it's rough on the backside...). I'll probably take it easy because the last thing I need is for her to break down out there.
Just confirmed with Sharon this morning :)
14th - 22nd
her Hubby is better..but still getting there..so all good vibes for him .
YAY..Moab !

Hadn't heard back, so called and confirmed today. Now I'm hoping I can get the Foxfire I recently acquired in shape. I just got her up and started a to do list. I'm gonna need a bigger notebook then I thought. Worst part is I had to order a bunch from Japan. Gonna be cutting it close.
Hey guys...any room for a proton and maybe a foxfire too? We will need to request time off and cross our fingers, but we'll try to get down there this year (and not so late that we miss out on seeing people). Boyfriend is starting a new clinic type job and cutting to part time on his current unit until he starts FNP school in June; we will see if he can get time off. My job there is no problem...I have an awesome ANM that will barter days off for overtime on days we are short nurses. I am hopeful we can make this work. ;Dy;
Protons, neutrons, electrons, they're all welcome! ;)
Hello friends! I will be leaving WA state on 05/17/16, and arriving in Moab on 05/18/16. Were going to stay thru 05/22/16, and then visit the grand canyon after the Moab event ends. I'll be staying at the Slickrock Campground this year, and my son and I will probably do another Slickrock Bike Trail visit. ;0) Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Thanks!
Hi, Kat. I'm driving a Wrangler this year, just to be different (from most of you folks, not from the majority of 4x4 enthusiasts). It'll be good to see you again.
One question. Wi-Fi? And yes, I'm a brain-addled internet addict.
Wi-Fi at the motel?
Thought you weren't going?
I'm military. I can't predict my own future. Erring on the side of caution and going to reserve something, just in case.
Hotels and camp grounds have wifi however it can be very slow (downloads are usually okay but uploads can take eternity).
I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new people, it is less than 2 months away now so I am going to need to get busy on the VX and get it in top shape so it is ready for the trails.
We had WiFi at the Apache last year, it was not great but worked OK, I cannot speak for the campsites and other hotels in the area.
I just got my 4.77s with ARB lockers yesterday so I need to get them installed and the hitch. I also need to fix the leaking power steering hose and find the elusive pinhole coolant leak.
I will be there even if I do not get all the stuff done.
Congrats, you'll love the lockers!!! Let me know if you need any help with the ARBs, I just set-up and installed a new ARB in the rear axle after my last one grenaded itself internally.
Also, have you checked the waterpump for the source of the coolant leak?
I'm gearing up for Moab and have almost all of my projects finished already... first time ever! Last year I was wrenching on the VX until midnight the night before departure.
With lockers you can do Golden Spike! :D
I do need help installing the lockers otherwise I will have to take it to a shop and hope they do it right. I will text you and we can set something up.
The coolant leak is elusive because it does not drip from anywhere so I put same dye in to see if I can find it, I can smell it and at high altitude it will cavitate so it is getting air in the system and leaking somewhere but we cannot see the leak.
I got the hitch on yesterday, that was a lot more work than putting one on the Trooper was.
We shall see, I might try it.
Your coolant problem could be the little tube/oring under the intake.
Apparently I won't get back until after the 25th of May, so looks like I won't be around at all. Bummer.
I did put some die in the cooling system, then using a black light I could see a small puddle under the intake, so now at least I know where the leak is I should be able fix it before Moab.
That a Bummer, sorry you can't be there.
Is anyone heading out there from Dallas/North Texas? Would be interested in discussing a caravan possibly...
Try Lisa ( VXCrazy).
I believe her and Greg will be driving up to Moab from Austin.
Jo
Should we start a Moab 2016 T-shirt/ sticker design thread?
It'll be here sooner than we think.

Sorry for the double post...not sure what happened here!
Greg and I are headed up saturday 5/14 but not going through DFW, we are west and head up through Lubbock and Amarillo, but your welcome to meet us in Amarillo sunday morning for the drive into Moab. Trip back to Texas you would be solo as we are spending a few days in Colorado on our way back! I remember the good old days when we used to have a BUNCH of VXs caravan from Texas! Good times!
