It looks too good...
Hey Eclipse,
Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me. I love the cheap mods. I share Bantan's problem, going deaf from all the loud music. I just wanted a fairing to have a place to put some decals. I'll get around to posting pics one of these days...

Figures, the same day I mount my fairing, I wreck the Vx anyways. Hopefully, when she is out of the shop, I will have some better pics to show of it.
Great fairing though. REALLY takes care of the wind noise.

new mounting
After figuring for a while, finally i think this way of mounting the yakima is fairly good, no dangling clicking sound, also center bracket firmly touchs the vehicle top, personally i prefer the yakima fairing looks.
i used another mighty mount and a plastic wrap, actually u can order another side bracket and mount it at the center the same way the other 2 brackets do.
Anyway, for those of u still thinking which one to go, here're some more pictures.

Hey people, I got a idea and I hope someone can help me.
I would like to change my "New" Yakima fairing look. What I need
is the Yakima font! Dose anyone happen to have this font?
I like Yakima and all, have used em for years. but don't like to look like all you other VX people with a racks on top! Would like to change writing on the fairing!
thanks
AJ
The guy with the new rack and basket on top!

For those interested in a fairing for your VX, this is the thread I used. The installation instructions and pictures are quite good. Like the author, I also decided to reverse the fairing so that the Thule logo doesn't show. I think that gives it a cleaner look.

Fuzzy,
A fairing on the ol' roof rack would be great, but I don't think that Yakima sells the horizontal mounts for our cross bars anymore. I'm sure I might be able to fabricate something out of metal or plastic strapping if I had to. Are you going to go to Moab so I can get a closer look at your set up?
-
Unfortunately not. Foot surgery this summer will dramatically limit my mobility. Sigh.
-
thanks Fuzzy, I'll read this more in detail tonight away from work

Same here, reversed the logo, installed the brackets under the roof rail. It was very easy

good pictures Fuzzy, thanks for the info on this!

No need to flip my fairing. The Thule logo faded off anyways, heh. There is barely a whisper of it's ghosting visible anymore.
It;s lasted me a good, what.... 4-5 years now? Still strong.
