Sorry man, I just can't. I just really don't like the new FJ. I mean, I give Toyota points for the effort, but imo, it looks like a Hummer drawn by a cartoonist. Its just way too big and way too bubblely looking. I've tried, but I can't get into it.
The RSc on the other hand, now that I would be allover...

Video of the silly H2.
Yup, I wheeled with Jay in Moab 08. It's not that I hate it or anything, it's just that I have tried to like it for a while, and I have finally reached my decision...:thumbdn: Either way, I'm sure they make good wheelers and have some good aspects.
But you have a point. Blacking out any vehicle definitely takes it up a notch as far as coolness.
:) Bart
ohhhh.... i misread...this thread is about what vehicles bart likes????
ok...never mind on the FJ then...
pretty sure it would destroy 95% of the vehicles on this list in the offroad world, but its too ugly i guess :(
gotta jab ya bart
How do you figure?Quote:
pretty sure it would destroy 95%
And FJ is 1.5 door on each side right??
I think the FJ can out wheel 50% stock, and if we're comparing modded I'd say 35% ;)
50%??? how do you figure?? the FJ has a built in locker...stock...
show me another vehicle there with a built in locker...(ok, the rubicon does, but what else??)
Locker doesn't mean it can outwheel... ask Zeus ;)
Also it's an "option" so calling it stock isn't really fair.
Well, yes and no. I do like a lot of these vehicles, several of them not so much. Of all of them listed there are two I would LOVE to have, the Defender 90 and a 89 Trooper RS. The rest you can keep. :)
So, if you want a jab, here's one: Did you even read the beginning of this post?
"- Is considered a "sport utility vehicle" or "light truck"
- Only 2 doors
- Has a SWB
- Has a stock xfer case (no 4x4 lifted Ford Feisas on 35"s please)
- Non military, consumer vehicle"
FJ don't fit. :D
So there!
:p Bart
Well that proves nothing. You just like the FJ, so therefore it can out do most of the vehilces on this list? I love my VX, but I know there are plenty of Jeeps out there that would run circles around it.
And regardless, even if the FJ was THE BEST WHEELER in the world, it simply doesn't fit the list, ugly or not. :D If I add it, I might as well add the Xterra too, just for good measure, right? :_beer:
Bart
I hope you're not implying Justin has skill!!
j/k of course...
I like the FJ, I could drive one in the future, and I do believe it is very capable, but I wouldn't say it's anymore or less capable than any other on the list.
We're not talking stock trim here... We all dream of what we could do, can do and will do, not how they come stock ;)
Hopefully; the Chinese will build the new Hummer HX/H4 concept, and Ford will build the new retro Bronco concept. In the meantime, I'll just have to be happy with my FJ-40 & VX.
Incidentally, I used to own a 1997 Limited Edition (#127 of 300 made) LR Defender-90. I sold it to put a very substantial down payment on a house. The Defender-90 is a super-tough truck, but drank gas like frickin' kool-aid (when the speedometer needle goes to the right; the gas gauge needle goes to the left, at the same time - no joke). I will say this however, that the Defender-90 is one of the very few 4x4's; besides the legendary FJ-40, that retains (and often even increases) its re-sale market value.
Hahaha! Justin’s I wish I had a locker moment. ;)

I think even Lamborgini did a two door?
I didn't know they were still building or concepting offroad vehicles...
I always loved the LM002... One day ;)
