smells like gas

My vx smells like gas when idling. No one can figure out y. Have had all test done ie pressureisiizing the fuel system. Help

Where does the smell appear to be coming from? Exhaust, engine bay, under the vx?

mine did this when i first got it and right before i started having rough idle problems - changed the fuel pressure regulator, idle control valve, ant throttle position sensor and it all went away - not sure which one did the trick but it had to be one of the three

Mine was a break in the EGR valve exhaust, and same for me, only smelled when idling.

The FPR is right below the vents below the windshield so I'm guessing that was the culpret.

The other thing to consider is whether the tank was overfilled. Doesn't the overflow from the fuel fill go to a charcoal canister in the engine compartment?

I can't tell. It smells every were around the car no performance issues though. Maybe loss of mpg. And thanks evil

I think that charcoal canister is just forward of the fill spout. Look up under the body, it is banded in place.
