Just wondering has anybody done in the dash area?
well, I installed two power outlets where the ashtray went. But now with the Jensen unit I bought from 'twistedsymphony, will be doing a redsign and moving it along with the MediaLink3 interface to the lower DIN location
I installed two of them along with an engine Start button and av inputs for my head unit in the lower dash section

That looks pretty good where did you wire the power from?
direct to the battery. ran a 10ga power wire with a fuse, then split it between the two outlets. ran the ground to under the center console.
that way i can use the outlets even with the key out. like if my phone is dead, ill run into a store and leave the phone charging.. also comes in handy for air compressors and spot lights
Funny, I've been thinking about doing exactly what you described (outlets in ashtray area) for awhile. Be sure to take pics before you change everything out, I'd love to see what it looks like now.Quote:

I added an Anderson Powerpole socket to the edge of my CPU wart. Powerpoles can handle more amps, so they're better if you're hooking up inverters and stuff. I think I've got 10ga wire running from the battery to a fuse block, then on into the cab.

i went to walmart and picked up a marine outlet for 5 bucks, and an 30 minutes later here it is, i wired it atraight to the battery.
