Front Hood Spring
I'm looking for the part the causes the hood to pop up when you pull the hood release lever in the cab. Right now I've got to pull the lever and have my wife lift the hood, or find something to keep the lever pulled while I run around to pull up the hood.
Anyone know? I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics of the hood release to give a better description.
Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem as well,
All I did was clean the dirt and old grease out from the latch mech. and sprayed some wd-40 and all was good. it has been 2 years now. no more stuck latch! That might save you several bucks and a huge headache.

Try turning the rubber bumpers on either side of the hood latch a 1-2 turns counter-clockwise. That and lubricating the hood latch may be all you need.

Yes, the WD-40 will work wonders. The reason it doesn't pop up is not because the spring is weak, but because the latch mechanism gets so filthy and gritty that the spring isn't strong enough to overcome all that friction. I think almost everyone here has had this problem. Heck, I'm due for another cleaning, actually.
Good luck!

I have the latch problem too.
I will try cleaning it and spray with WD40

Makes sense! I'll give it a try when I get back home this weekend. Thanks.
