Thanks for this board. It has a ton of info and helpful info. Thanks.

I am stuck in a horrible deal due to the fact that the dealer I bought the vehicross from was using 2.5" wheel spacers and 17" GMC wheels on the VX. The offset is perfect but the wheels wont clear the 108mm hubs the VX has hence the spacers. I am looking at a set of eagle alloys with the following specs

Rim Size 17x8 Bolt 6x5.5
Offset: -4 mm Backspace: 4.25 inch

Will these tuck into the wheel wells better? I am lifted with OME 912's and a tb crank. With my current wheels I can only run a 245/65/17 without rubbing issues. This is the same as stock size. I want to run a Nitto Terra 265/70/ 17.

Any help would be awesome thanks

Grant,

This sounds like bimati's VX. Where did you buy this VX?

Check out this link.

http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp

It has a wheel and tire tech section including calculators for both tire size and wheel offset.

Thanks for the link. I have been to the 1010tires link. It looks like these will stick out further than stock. The issue I have is I have no idea what stock offset looks like. I have some 17x7.5" GMC wheels with 2.5"spacers so I think my wheels stick out closer to 4" further than stock. Would this set of wheels I am looking at clear 265/70/17's with my 3 " lift. I dont want rubbing issues. Thanks for the continued help.

Have you considered having a machine shop bore the centers for clearance?

You should be fine with that set up. I have 4.5 backspacing running 265-75-16

Hmmm... I wonder if Bimati (Jeff) sold/traded his VX. He had a 99 silver w/ GMC wheels and spacers... that would explain why we haven't seen him online for a while...

I am certain he traded it in on a Suzuki or something.

yeah Bim's profile (http://vehicross.info/forums/member.php?u=2145) states "99 Astral 0210" so that would be his VX.

The cost isnt worth it nor is it 100% possible. The hub is solid an has no removable cover since GM's dont have locking hubs too often.

Thanks I have. Denver Isuzu replaced both CV's, ball joints, and some other little thing in the front end. I have been serching "tires & wheels" I am just checking to get a 100% good point of view before I plop down 500.00 plus on some new rims. Thanks

Yeah, we haven't heard from Bim in a while, now that you mention it. Seems he would've said goodbye. Maybe was avoiding flak he thought he'd get? Still......

The dealer said it needed 2300.00 worth of front end work and the old owner couldnt justify paying that so they traded it in. Its in a good home now. I have already added a 2.5" Mb catback exhaust and 2" high flow cats. Also I have fully polished the headlights back to new. I just had all fluids drained and replaced. A transmission flush and 4 wheel alignment. I am trying to keep the Vx in my home for quite sometime:)
