those who have dressed up engines, i did mine in blue about 5 months ago, but now some of the wire loom is starting to fade already, mostly stuff around the block, presumably from heat..not a big surprise, i bought it 'cause it was cheap, now im ready to do it right.. has anyone found a wire loom/wire dressing alternative that looks good and is more fade resistant? (looking to find it in blue)

Can you post pictures of what you have done? Isn't all of the wiring already done in black?

Check www.cableorganizer.com. They have colored corrugated split loom good to 200F. Panduit, an OEM, has some good to 230F, but I think it is only available in black or grey.

Just an idea, but I used silicone tubing when water cooling my PC which was a translucent blue and supposedly many types of silicone are good clear up to around 400 degrees or more and it never really fades with age, just gets somewhat cloudy. You could buy it in different diameters and slit it just like the coverings you are now using. Silicone is already used in engine compartments as well for many types of tubing and is good in it's insulative and cleanability aspects. Here's a link

it's the primoflex, and even though it says it's PVC based, it is just like silicone. They used to have an even bigger size, which I got that is around an inch diameter. It's been in my PC running hot water through it for over a year now with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
