what is the Pxxxx number?
what is the Pxxxx number?
here is a pdf of error codes
http://www.actron.com/publish/2005/0...lish_16298.pdf
wisdom the code was p0101 and I found out that ckt means circut (I actually have 2 of the actron scanners, 1 pocket scanner and 1 "big daddy" that reads live data) I thought it was the MAF because of that code, but I replaced the MAF and the problems persisted. I checked all the wiring, seems to be intact but..... That code tells me otherwise Acording to the live scan my MAF is measuring1.4 at idle, and increases with throttle so it would seem that the circut is working..... I am about to give up......There is an import specialty shop near me..... But I don't have that kind of cash at the moment, any other suggestions?
:_drool: It's all fun and games until it can't be fixed!
Is 1.4 in spec? If you use the Workshop Manual CD it walks you through a number of tests to properly isolate the problem.
Try the following: http://www.vehicross.info/forums/sho...4&postcount=15
By the way, did you checked your air filter? It could impact as well if it is enough dirty.
Also check the intake air tube for cranks. If it take some air beyond MAF somehow the engine might fail to run properly as well.
2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS (build in progress): 4JX1/A340/part time, 2" body lift, front Aisin hubs, rear Aussie Locker, 4.56 gears, OEM rear sway bar disconnect, AirFlow snorkel, cabin air filter
1980 Jeep Cherokee (assembling): 1.5" body lift, TBI, HEI
1987 AMC Eagle: stock
If it happened after a fillup it might just be bad gas. Hook your fuel preassure tester back up, run the purge hose to a safe location, make sure you dont have any leaks, start the viehical. Put a zip tie around the purge button and drain the tank with the engine running, check the fuel if it smells at all bad thats probly your problem, it could also have alittle water in it. If that dosnt help, ill run you through some more things to check. Also check all of your plugs in your electrical system, throw some dialectric grease on every plug you can find. Ive even done that to all of the tranny plugs. Electrical problems are a bitch to diagnose when you have bad conections. Spend an hour or 2 going through it all. Trust me, ill help you fix it, screw paying some one to fix your VX. I also had a problem with the wiring harness near the tranny, it melted because the factory has it to close to the exaust, it caused tranny problems. If you have a short when you put it in gear that could also cause problems. Does it stall when you put it in drive, or just reverse.

Talk about a pain in the A**!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well after multiple tests and diagnosing I decided to try another MAF from a different location than the original "new" one I purchased thru advance. (The code for MAF kept coming up about 20 times) Turns out Advance sold me a defective part!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Got the second MAF in from Autozone and Now she purrs like a kitten! or maybe it should be called a roar cause It seems to me that I gained back some power that I didn't know was lost. Also while I was at it I changed the spark plugs which I had neglected to do for the first 95,000 miles. I put in iridium plugs ($12 each). Talk about an improvement to throttle response and power it is noticeable with these plugs. They actually gaurantee an increase of 10hp but I had my doubts about that. But, after putting them in.......its possible. Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions!![]()
