    Smile mini-update

Uploaded a clip of the muffler after putting about 2,500 miles on it.
The clip doesn't show too much of a difference other than a bit rounder when I put it in gear.

But I do notice a difference driving now, it's a bit quieter with a more truck like throaty sound. Unfortunately, there is still a nasty resonance/drone around the 1700 rpm (55 mph) mark when in "D". After putting it in "3" to get the rpms up a bit, the resonance goes away. I'll likely be putting on some mini resonators after some new cats to see if that dampens the resonance... we'll see.

for now, under 1500 and over 1900 rpm, it's sweet and can just hear (and feel) it lightly. With some B-Quiet Extreme I hope to dampen the cab noise down a bit more.

Even just rolling into the underground parking at work and tapping the gas to park I'm setting some car alarms off ,good vibrations.

    Cheers.

    Arrow Update

Well after about 4 months, the Morgan Tec muffler didn't tone down as much as I wanted it to. There remained a nasty resonance at certain RPMs I couldn't take. It sounded like a turbo prop plane at certain speeds. The Morgan Tec muffler is a piece of art and I highly recommend it (if you can find one - mine's taken already) if you offroad or like a cool aggressive bark. I recommend extra baffles he can add and maybe consider some resonators if you can fit them. It hurt a bit to take it off...

I could have done a bunch of jerking around with new pipes and resonators and glass packs to keep the Morgan tec installed and quieter, but the cost was too close to going all new with something different.

It was suggested that two separate mufflers (one per side) would be good for high flow (a la supercharger), but my shop advised against it as a V6 does not take too kindly to this type of set up. Something about the 3 cylinders firing into each muffler is a bit too coffee can sounding and not as controlled as say a V8 with 4 cylinders per muffler.

So I think I did the next best thing, a dual in dual out Magnaflow:
    http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=596

    Installed:

With dual 2.25 cross over pipes.

And while the "doc" was down there, I had Magnaflow cats installed too.
It was a few steps ahead then a step back with the new cats. The higher flow cats added back a bit of noise that I got rid of with the different muffler.
Some 2.25" pipes at the end also helped cut down on some noise...

So in essence it's now a full cat-back system. So far the sound is noticeably better in the cruising range of RPMs - not too much droning at all. (But she barks at about 3500!) I'll give it a few weeks to build up some carbon and then do a sound bite.

Total cost from cats to tips: ~$900 -
Wakin' up the party neighbours when she starts up in the morning: Priceless

    Cheers all.
