If nobody comes up with an answer for you, you could always put a blob of playdoh on top of the batt on all four corners with wax paper on top, then close the hood & see what kind of clearance you end up with...

Be sure to listen carefully for a faint "ohhhhh nooooo" coming from under the hood.
