Since the SCCA dumped Pro-Rally their new focus is on the entry-level to help build the sport. Part of that is increased support of rallycross and also some arena type events, with the X-Games as a primer to get people interested.

Unfortunately there are two bodies organizing pro-rally events in the US and it's hurting the sport rather than helping it, as they're splitting sponsors and resources. It's a real shame as rally is the most intense motor sport, yet most in this country have the inability to think outside the oval when it comes to racing.
