I would start by running a cleaner through the motor. I believe some have used sea foam. If that does not work I would try eliminating the pcv valve. I had an issue with consumption and stopped it by eliminating the pcv valve. Take the hose off the pcv valve and plug the end. Get a piece of hose to go on the pcv valve and put a breather in the other end. I got one from the auto parts store for $10. shawn

Got a pic? Also, what are the benifits of doing this? I've seen it done on the Probe GT but was never really sure why?

I never did hear how this worked out -it sounds like a good fix. It's been awhile so the long term is good too.
Is that breather getting any oil in it?

I had a problem with oil consumption ,approx. 1 qt per 1000 miles, sometimes more. I changed the pcv valve and it would go away until the valve stuck again. So the only real benefit for me was to stop the oil consumption problem. The problem is due to the lack of or poor design of the baffles in the valve cover. The baffles keep the intake from sucking in oil when the pcv valve is open. I will try to post a pic soon.

mbeach, I have not checked it but I wll and let you know. shawn
