It's seems everyone has made this way too complicated. I simply removed the two hinge pins and replaced them with $5 pull pins I found at Ace. I retained the plastic inserts that supported the original hinge pins and that has kept everything from squeaking. I can install my seat in less than a minute and it's even quicker to take out. I have considered using the seat mounts for a full size spare tire mount (baja style) that's just as quick to remove. Options... it's a beautiful thing.

    Zeus,

You know, you can't just post something like this and not post pictures at the same time!

Seriously, I would like to see some pictures of your rig with the Ace pins in place...if you have the time.

    Thanks - Bart

Well as luck would have it... as I was posting I went looking for the pins I took out before the 'ZuZoo so I could post pics but they are so "convenient" that they seem to have disappeared! I'm thinking the landlord took them thinking they were his. Anyway, I'll make my way to Ace tomorrow to price, photo and pick some more up.

Ace Hardware - (2) 5/16" x 2-3/4" zinc plated pins = $4.80 plus tax = quick release rear seat. I hope the pics posted alright. It's hard to see but the plastic sleeves are on the seat mounts holding the pins.

Nice! A simple solution to a simple problem. I like that. I may just have to pick me up a set of those.

So I'm starting to start on this as we type, as this is the first temp. mod for my Tahoe trip this weekend...
do you just hammer out the hinge pins or is there something to unscrew first?
