There is more than one thread about this.
I called Recaro on this and the heat/ventilation is an open for the Trend model seat, which is what we have. However, when I asked if I could purchase these accessories they told me it was too much work for me to install and that they would only sell it as an installed option on a new seat.
There is a vent in the back of the seat, about half way up before the plastic ends. I assume that the fan, or fan with heater, blows the air up through the bottom of the seat, up, and out the back.
