Ldub is there anyway to adjust how high up off the roof the thule version sits? looks pretty high in the pics
The Thule xPedition comes in two sizes. Ldub and I have the Xpedition 696, which is the larger version. It looks like Zeus may have the small version, the 695, it's hard to tell. I paid $280 for the 696 at GI Goes (Regular price was $350 they regularly have 20% sales).Originally Posted by Ruflyf
Ldub and I have ours mounted to the roof racks. It looks like Zeus has it mounted to the roof.
The mounting brackets slide the full length of the basket for infinate mounting positions. The brackets can also be mounted on the inside or outside of the outermost basket rails. But the height is not adjustable. You could put blocks under it to raise it but mine lays right on top the roof rack and is bolted to the roof rack using a T-shaped bolt that slides into the channel where the weather stripping is on the top of the roof rack rail.
Here's a thread with some more roof rack info:

I thought about mounting it on the bottom side of the cross bars by notching the outermost side pieces to accept the towers & drilling through the cross bar to attach...but soon realized I'm WAY too lazy to do all that for about 1 1/2-2" lower profile.Originally Posted by Ruflyf
