    Red face Dual shocks?

I was just curious if anyone has installed dual shocks on a VX? I purchased a set of Rancho 9000's, but instead of replacing the stock shocks I was wondering if the new set could be mounted in addition to the stock set? If they can be, are extra brackets needed to attach? I've obviously never done this, as most of you probably realized. Thanks for any feedback.

It would require some custom fabrication. But with enough money anything is possible.

Check my gallery for some pics of the 'Dakar VX'

It has dual shocks, front and rear. The fronts were simply duplicate top and bottom mounts welded to the rear of the lower control arm and frame.
It's pretty clear in at least one of the photos.

Incidentally, I just noticed a leak in my Rancho 9000s. The rear ones have sprayed their oil all over the bottom of the truck. I do drive them hard, under difficult conditions, but it looks like I won't be getting another set.

While on the topic... could the T-bars be eliminated with the install of a single or pair of coil overs (say the Bilestein 9100's)?

It wouldn't be easy, but with a solid frame and IFS, the VX is pretty much a blank canvas to work on.

I'd love to do a coilover conversion (I really just don't like the T-bars).

The "Geolandar" Baja VX has a coilover rear suspension -yet they maintained the torsion bar front suspension...hmm...

How about a Tri-Shock set up instead

You can get some ideas from this VX.

The coilover conversion (with solid axle in this case) has been done (pre-2001, in fact).
    Someone named Corbin, at Trailseeker.com

    Look closely...

Thats an old pic! Corbin has a full Exo and quite a few more dents with a couple of Ultimate Adventure trips under his belt. Still running the coil over set up though...

    The front suspension...
