Anita told me that I should always use OEM parts- she especially mentioned brake pads, and the fact that the OEM pads last a LOT longer than any aftermarkets.

I have no problem finding other sources of quality parts.. as long as they are quality. As far as brake pads are concerned, I have 80K miles on my VX and the pads are still good with no sign to change them up yet. My Isuzu mechanic swears on the OEM pad longevity. Maybe west coast weather conditions make them last longer???

NO tell me it is not so,??Where is Merlin at St. charles Isuzu..I just bought parts from him a month ago with free shipping and a good discont, for being a member of this club??Ask for merlin when you call see if that helps.?? I bought oem pads $110 or so from him, great no dust.....Tony B
You could try "Wentz Isuzu" (1-800-937-9368), they have always treated me right...though I haven't had any dealings w/ them for over a year (haven't needed any oem parts). They're in Bismarck ND.

I just ordered a fog light switch and dome light assy from St Charles on the 3/9/06 and they arrived yesterday. Didn't seem to be a issue ordering, and no mention of them not carrying isuzu parts, and it was from another parts guy, Merlin had gone home aleady.

I think it's the same on the east coast. I checked the pads on my Rodeo Sport now with +80k miles and I swear they are at the most 50% down compared to a new set of pads I orderedOriginally Posted by Anita
And in no way did I baby the truck on the brakes, more like severe abuse in that department. Even the drum shoes are pretty much good.
