If you notice, it was designed by Lotus Engineering - that's the consultation division of Lotus Group, not the manufacturing division. They built it as a demonstration of how Lotus' technology and engineering consultation could improve other manufacturers' products, including SUVs. As I'm sure you know, Lotus is highly regarded as the best in the world in suspension design. I don't think Chapman would have any issues whatever with Lotus expanding its focus to serve the largest growing sector of the automotive industry!

(Bottom line: they're not gonna build it - it's just marketing for their services.)
