I'm also using the "Jayfotos" intake with a K&N filter inside a heavily modded stock air box.
Also, I have run a length of 3" alum. ducting through the center of the c/f intake w/ insulation packed around it (between the inner wall of the c/f part & the alum. ducting) to reduce intake temp.
Also, have fabbed up a heatshield between the intake & the engine.

Sweet, thanks for the different ideas. Any opinions on performance differences?
The difference is quite noticable, especially when its cold out. The stock airbox chokes out performance one the non-SC cars, ans worse on the SC because of the even greater air demand.
Put the biggest cone filter you can find on, and make some sort of heat shield.

Does anyone know why there is a "huge" price difference in cold air intake prices? I can understand the quality of the filter is important, but other than that, I dont see how something can range in price from $30ish to $200+. Seems like someone mentioned a 4" setup in a different post, or were they all 3" for vx's?
This was how I made the cold air intake and box.
