what is the mobil code that vx is using

0W30 (if you can find it).
I have been using 5W20 for the last few changes with no ill effects.
VXer in the Sky
5W20 only if you live in/druring cold temps - see manual for other climates.

0W30 was recommended to me by 2 Isuzu technicians on separate occasions at different service centers. It quiets the noise of the valvetrain, increases fuel economy and aids engine cooling.
The 6Vxx engine is very modern and manufactured to close tolerances. There is nothing to fear by running a lighter weight oil all year round.
5W20 motor oil (Mobil 1) is more common anymore because it has been recommended by Honda for it's new motors. There is little difference between the two otherwise -in fact, I've heard from a few dealers that 0W30 is on its way out altogether.

Does anybody know what normal oil consumption is for a VX motor? One quart per thousand miles or what?
