They dont go on your record in CA either.
In CA, Sheriffs aren't tasked with traffic enforcement; therefore our purpose of traffic stops is to gain compliance with the law. So if we think giving you a warning will correct your behavior, good enough. Personally I dont ussually write tickets unless there is an attitude issue or multiple offenses. Although, sometimes we may just think you need some police attention.![]()

In Houston I don't have time to write tickets-
Police work here is on a whole different level from the average department and with the influx for 150,000 new LA. bodies in one week it's not gonna get better anytime soon. After 22 years on the "night time streets" the foolishness of the human thought process never ceases to amaze me.
A "warning ticket" is a Texas butt chewin' and you're free to go.
