    VX at the Paris Dakar

Hi everyone greetings from the U.K.
Having sold my VX last year I just had to get another High Performance 4x4 so I have managed to get a Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution in searching for pictures of the factory run model I typed in 'paris dakar 1998 pictures' in the address bar, when looking through the pictures I came across a picture of a VX being re-fueled in the desert next time i find it I will save it and post it on the site as I am sure it will be of interest. The Pajero Evo has 280bhp+ and goes to 60 in 6 seconds it is really quick but does not have as smart a drive system like the VX. the ride is a lot more comfortable though but as of yet I'm not brave enough to throw it around like I could the VX.

    Thanks Cyrk....
I had seen that site before, those are some awesome photos and detail of the Paris-Dakar VX. There are very few actual shots of the car at the rallye or in "action".

White wheels look good on that guy. Bet they would look just as good on a regular ironman.

Here's some "action" shots from the '98 Dakar.

There was a second VX in '98 driven by Bruce Garland of AU for a Japanese team. There used to be a nice story of Garland's VX experience on the web, but the link no longer works. I should have copied that page back then. He did very well early on and was considered a threat by Mitsubishi. He had to drop out in the middle stages due to mechanical issues.

They could hear his frustrated screams all the way back in France..."bloody windows!".

I got a cool Dakar kit off ebay (PORTUGAL) that uses the Hongwell 1/43rd version to transform it into the rally version...
Have not got a chance to do it. It was about $33.00. I might be able to get more, not sure.

    Thumbs up

Cool find! If you can get more I'd definitely love one, so please pass along the info if so.
