Mine also came with the Panasonic, but I replaced it with a Optima Red Top after when the Panasonic battery was about 2 1/2 yrs old, started to lag when trying to start it so I replaced before it totally died.

Ask forgiveness, not permission.
mine came with some Japanese named brand, but didn't last long. One of my ex girlfriends, didn't listen when I said never touch or place anything on the battery. My VX was in the dealers shop for a month and a half so I kept the battery so it wouldn't dry rot. So, she placed a popcorn tin directly on top completing the positive and negetive terminals...sparks went flying... she arc welded and melted a whole in the tin, turning a space black the size of a softball and the terminals were melted and mishapen beyond reconition.
So, she bought me an Optima Redtop(the lower power one) which I replaced for the higher powered one and use for the starting battery. Then I placed a Yellow Top in place of the air box to run the winch, audio amp, air compressor and rock lights.
Mine has an Isuzu battery.I don't know if it's the original one or not.
So, Isuzu is stamped or cast into the battery case?Originally Posted by 1CROSS
I'd like to see a pic of that.
Mine died at around 3 years - Japanese brand (don't remember what it was off-hand) - been running a red-top optima since.

Stock battery here on my 99 Vehicross. Aside from my recent phantom horn problem, the battery seems fine. Started everyday in Chicago and now New Jersey. Of course, Chicago was a heated garage. How long will the stock battery last?
Mine has a big honking ISUZU sticker on it. In the bottom corner, in tiny print, it says manufactured for American Isuzu...doesn't say manufactured by who-whom. Works just fine, thank you . When it dies, there will be a red top in that space.
