I've personally pulled a trailer with 2 tons or more of stacked books in boxes. The VX made it up some pretty steep hills without an issue. The only problem I had was breaking carrying that load. If you pull a boat consistently, you would want some type of breaking assist on the trailer. I have Tone's hitch installed.
