driveline whine, dealer cant fix

I have a 2001 and it had a whiney rear from the start in coasting mode.
I complained and they replaced. It still whines.
I have conculuded that Isuzu has poor Hypoid gear cutting practice and that we just live with it. I am amazed the dealer has gone to such lengths considering the noise is very common.

The noise i hear is when coasting, if you feather the accelerator you can make it come and go, just as you accelerate or are coasting you hear it, when you back off it goes away.
Raque ....i would say definitely get it in while still under warranty, both my dealer and Isuzu have said its not right and needs to be fixed, so far my my guess its cost them upwards of 10 or $12,000 with no end in sight.

It does get annoying when you know the noise is there i find myself deliberately listening for it, it drives me crazy!

When we do finally figure it out i keep ya all posted, it would be nice to go into the dealership and tell 'em how to fix it!!

Good news is i know the guy at the rentals desk now pretty well, last week he fixed me up with a brand new pontiac grand prix GT loaner, way more fun than the chevy malibu classic i used to get, nasty, nasty little thing, should have been destroyed at birth!
