One quart of oil in 5K miles is like using no oil at all. If you change it every 3K then it is a non issue. Just my 2cents.

Etlsport, JGeorge, & Otto... some follow-up advice, please.

I poured half a can in with the oil and started her up to get it mixing and circulating. No problems there. But when I disconnected the hose from the intake to the PCV valve (at the PCV valve) the engine died immediately. I restarted and tried doing it with my wife's foot on the gas, but it still died immediately. If I left that hose on and pulled the PCV out of the valve cover, it would still run OK.

How did you guys add the Sea Foam through this hose? Did you suck up the Sea Foam through the PCV? Or were you able to keep the engine running after disconnecting the hose from the PCV?

Etlsport, I pulled the hose you identified in your pictures, but there was pretty much no vacuum on it, so I didn't want to just dump the sea foam in there since it seemed like it might just sit in the intake tube.

    Thanks!

i poured it in with the engine running.. slow drips until the engine started to sputter then i would back it off until the engine recovers.. and repeat until 1/2 can is in... where did you put the seafoam? i know that if you put too much into the intake hose, your car wont want to start because tehres too much liquid in the intake

i would get the engine started and let it rev around 2k rpms or so for awhile to help burn the seafoam down to a level that your engine can manage it

I only put it in the oil, since I couldn't sort out how to add it to the intake (hence, my post).

So it sounds like it definitely got sucked into the intake when you added it.

What about the through-the-PVC-line guys? Did you have any problems with the engine stalling out as soon as you unplugged the hose to the PVC?

Just put it in the gas tank and drive it through. It will clean anything that really matters.
Sold the VX 11-21-07. It was fun while I had it!
    Thanks for all the help.

Will Sea Foam do anything more than Techron would then?
