It's actually a solar sensor that measures the amount of UV, the computer combines the information with the other sensors (Total of 6) for accurate temp control. In comparison, my wife has a Honda Pilot and we can nerver get the climate control to be just right. With the VX's system, I never have to move the temp slider, I have set it and forgot it (73deg).
