It is most likely the switch on the shifter that makes sure transmission is in park. Try turning the key on and holding the brake down and running it through the gears and back to park. If this fixes it it may be slightly out of adjustment. If not it may be deeper in the electrical system or a bad switch and require a trip to the dealer.
