same thing happened to me. I believe it is all part of the same problem.
I could hear the motor working but the window wouldn't move. Then it fell into the door freely. I was able to put the window back up with the button.
It was the glass mount that broke off. They tried to glue it back on and then ended up replacing the whole window. That would be the fourth time I took it to the dealer for the window. The search turned up plenty on the binding window and the broken mount. Anita had this problem way back when...
