You lose the "spike" in the powerband because the stock intake has a vacuum operated set of butterfly valves that lengthen the intake runner, which increases the velocity of the incoming air.
The supercharger kit replaces everything from the heads up, with the exception of the throttle body,injectors,EGR & fuel press. reg.
If you want to see some dyno. charts, use the search function on this site(dyno charts). Keep in mind these numbers are at the wheels,which is less than the same engine measured at the crank.
The s/c flattens out the spike in the powerband because as soon as you drop the leadfoot, it is increasing the velocity of the incoming air all across the powerband.
S/C kit adds 40+ - 50 hp. depending on which intake system you use.
