I think that is an excellent idea about the photos.

It would be great if we could all agree on one place to stay, but I would think that might be hard with different tastes and budgets.

Does anyone care to check into hotel deals. I might have an "in" with the general manager at the Ritz Carlton.. but that is not on the strip. LisaK was going to ask a friend that might have an in to the big hotels.. so we shall see soon.

Mark me down as a fly in. As for dinner, I'm always up for a good meal and vegas hasn't let me down yet. Its the only place I've been able to get a gormet meal in 10 min or less, gotta love tenderloins and garlic mashed at paris in 8 min 32 sec So, I'm up for Del Frisco's if others are. I'm not a big coaster person, but last time I didn't ride it and I've been kicking myself ever since.

As for hotels, I personally liked the MGM Grand. It's not the cheapest, but its also not really expensive. I'm up for whatever comes out to be the best option.

Just got off the phone with Anita no too long ago. If there are no unforseen complications with work during that time, may be considering a drive down to Vegas with the family to meet everybody again. I thinks it's about 8 hours from the bay area.

    Ron,

It would be a great thing if you came that you bring samples of your new mods along with the old, so we could see them up close and personal.

    I am really looking forward to seeing your new versions of the front grill!!!;Dr; ;Dp;

    Re: Lodging

I would love to help research but know absolutely nothing about Vegas so I don't think I would be helpful.

Maybe we could arrange like we do at Moab - one main area with the option of going elsewhere if the group choice doesn't work for you.

I didnt think that all who are coming may have the same budget when it comes to hotel cost. Depending on where you stay costs can be dramatically different.

Lisa and I will be at the MGM Grand. Lisa found a decent rate going through Expedia.com. Nothing on the strip is going to be cheap. FOr those who just need a place to drop off their suitcase there is always Terribles.. which by the way has the $4.99 prime rib with everything. $1.99 will buy you are great meal there anytime.

    More to come. Vegas baby

It will be great to see you again Larry! Jennifer and Lisa B you better come too. We must have a strong showing of the lady VX owners!!

    Vegas Hotels

OK so who's staying where while in Vegas?

I see Anita and Lisa are at the MGM, anyone else going to stay there?
When I was out there in September we all stayed at different hotels, but it would be cool if a bunch of us were at one.
I'm game for any place where there is a group of VX'er

I was checking Expedia.com out and they're pretty good to deal with.(done it several times before with no problems)

    Lampster from Vegas

    Hello All,

I've never been to a VX meet and greet before, but it souns fun. Ever since Anita mentioned it, I've been thinking of some good places to meet. As others have mentioned, not everyone will be staying at the same hotels, and even if they were, the parking garage doesn't make for a cool backdrop for photos. I have three basic suggestions. 1). Red Rock Canyon. It is a State Park located 30 minutes straight west of the strip that offers gorgeous views of the city. Because it is a state park, there is no off-roading, but there is a 13 mile scenic loop with many areas to pull off and park for a group photo. 2). Mt Charleston. Mt. Charleston is about a 45 minute drive and it makes you forget that you just came in from the desert. Off-roading is limited there as well but they have lots of snow and pine trees and the world's best hot chocolate up at the lodge. Elevation is 9,000 feet, and if you have never been, then its worth the trip. 3). My final humble suggestion are dry lake beds. We are surrounded by them. Many have trails, and flat smooth areas as well, and there is all the room in the world to do pretty much whatever we want. I taught my mother how to drive on one of those lake beds and was greatful that there was nothing around . I'll be happy to answer any questions if I can. I look forward to attending.

I just got thinking, I don't have a 8x10 of my VX They are all digitals in my computer and currently my color jets are messed up.
Well I'm heading out in the morning for Arizona so I'll see everyone Friday.

    Andy

PS I'll look around for a bit but need to get some sleep since it's going to be an early morning trip to the airport.

    Jim,
I think that the VX's present will be the Vegas owners'. Lampster talked of knowing a few trails so I PM'd him about taking the off-roaders early morning on Saturday if he is able. Then we would meet for lunch and a photo op at the Vegas sign. I was happy to see weather forecasts for next weekend as dry... at least for now. I PM'd you my cell#.
