    Small suv's are hot

It seems that other manufacturers have found out that the concept of the vehicross is really it!
    Check out these new vehicles:
The Hyundai Tucson which incorporates TOD as well !

and Kia is comming with a new sportage and Nissan with the qashqai:

That's "built" meaning "produced". A one-off concept vehicle is not an indicator of production.

I think the drawing was cooler than what came from it, as usual. :-)

It's funny, but the use of protective cladding has gotten popular with all manufacturers now. None as protective as the VX, but it's still there in heavy doses.

Nice... I just wish they would change the look of the Forester now. Don't get me wrong, I really like Subaru. I like MOST of their models, for what they are and what they can do, the Forester included. I just wish they'd fix the "plain Jane" look at bit, as they did with the Legacy.

You know, it's true... I think it has more to do with the (usually) exaggerated, almost 'toonish', penning of the concept on paper. I mean, look at the wheels... would they really manufacture those and, if so, why? They LOOK cool, and would definitely make the product look cooler, but we know it wouldn't happen. It's stance (in the pic) is more low and longer, and the one-off is taller and looks shorter... looking more like something that is probably conforming to standards for the road. I'm sure if they spent the time and money they could generate something that looks closer to the pic... maybe?

Everytime I see a smaller, newer SUV I think of how ahead of its time the VX was.

The qashqai is also quite similar to the Toyota Will VS, which has been here in New Zealand since 2001. Not quite the same wheel size though!

    (same colour even!)
