So my check engine light has been on since I bought the car on December 2nd. When I tried to get it inspected in Houston it failed because:
Fault Codes:
P0440: Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction
P0405: Exhauast Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low
What does this mean and what should I do? I do have the PV Muffler (it was on there when I bought it). Thanks in advance, Ryan. Oh yeah I drove outside the city to Waller, TX(middle o' no where) to get it inspected and it passed even with my cracked belt that I need to replace!
Did you buy it from an auto dealer? If so, take it back and amke them fix it - in KY it is not legal to sell a car that will not pass the emissions test. If you bought it from an individual (or the place you bought it from will not help), it may be under warranty. I think that emissions systems are covered by law up to 50,000 miles.Originally Posted by LittleBeast
