    Cool Accessories...

I know that many of you guys/gals buy item after item for your VXs. I'm fairly new to the board and have missed the years of "This sucks" and "This rocks" posts and thought that I'd start a post where people can post their "best of the best" VX type items.

For example, on my Trooper, the thing that people probably comment on the most is my Maglight mount. I have two Maglight mounting clips screwed to the driver's door right below the door handle/arm rest. It's right where I can easily get at it, but it is never in the way.

I know on the VX, a set of jumper cables coiled up will fit perfectly in the spare tire.

I guess my contribution is the Trooper cup holder (for which there is another post describing it).

So, what is on your top-10 list?

    Thumbs up

A pair of raised lip, black, rubber floor mats from Walmart that fit over the originals like they were made for them. They were $5.99 when I got them. Walmarts "Good" label.

Drivers pillar, dual gauge pod with Oil Press & Voltage guage.
Do a search for Gauge pods to see the post W/pic.

IPF driving & fog lights mounted on brush bar. Improved night driving visability 100%.

Thule 32" fairing in front of roof bars cut the wind noise to a reasonable level.

Dynamatting the vehicle reduced the interior noise level. It's worth doing at least the doors because of how much it changes the noise level.

    VX's don't need no stinking mod's.
    But they're sure fun!

    Hey,
The Thule 32" fairing. Is that a VX specific part or a universal one. I would like to possibly get that. I think it would not only cut the wind noise, but look good too...

NJVX, Its the universal one and it has everything you can use to mount it to the VX bars.

    Just a quick note here.

You'd think that the 32" yakima fairing would fit perfect

    BUT IT DOESN'T

Learn from my mistakes kids. The mounting clips on the yakima are to small to fit around the bars.

    I'm out $50 now.

Seems like someone else got that fairing and got it to fit - used the horizontal mount wingrider clips (from Isuzu) and mounted extended brackets or something - it may have been a thule deflector...

    Yakima fairing

Hey guys, I had the Yakima fairing and mounted it just fine. What I did was cut the mounting clips just where the curvature starts, then remove your roof rack for easy measuring and marking. Assemble the fairing and mounting clips and place on top of the rack. Mark your spots and drill holes through the rack. I did it removing the weather strip and after the holes were drilled and the fairing fitted, I re-mounted the weather strip and drilled a little smaller holes through it. I then mounted the whole thing together with the boltheads on top for a more factory look, you will need some kind of spacers for the bolts, flat, and pressure washers, it is really easy to figure out as you are fitting the whole thing together.

    Good luck,
    Julio

    Fairing

Here is a not so good pic, but it gives you an idea of the finished work.
