Hmmmm....with an Android phone, you can use the (free) Torque app + one of these and check/clear codes for $44.00. I've had one about as long as I've had my truck and it works like a charm.

On the other hand, I don't have a cel phone, android or otherwise, & not likely to have one in the foreseeable future.

So I'm kinda stuck with the Aero Force gizmo, for now anyway.

And my guess, find a new shop. Seriously, sounds like they just don't want the work. I would get the engine fixed and jump in line for the next available S/Cer. Dub beat me to the punch as usual though.

You don't need a cell, a tablet w/bluetooth will do. Available for the ipod/ipad crowd as well
