Yes, it is definitely a sculpture, look at the people walking around. It is probably in a modern-art museum.
As for genetic engineering, that knife cuts both ways. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. The same thing will happen with genetic engineering, not necessarily on humans, although I am sure there will be serious mistakes with humans, but even just genetically altered crops. Just about every American today is eating genetically engineered food and doesn't even know it because the regulations (and thus safety precautions that are part of regulations) are almost completely lacking in the USA. It is not a matter of if, but of when, we see at least one serious side-effect from sloppy (wall-street driven) genetic engineering. If we are lucky, it will only be small-scale, and then our goverment-by-crisis will implement something approaching reasonable safety precautions. If we aren't lucky, the sky is the limit (as in everything under the sky could be fatally affected in the worst possible scenario).
