Hello again, all. I apologize for the lack of updates in the past few weeks. Things have been very hectic, partly because I've suffered an unfortunate loss in the family. I've actually only been home since last night, as I've been back east attending the funeral of a close relative, and mourning with family. I've been gone a little over a week, and haven't been able to really focus on the mirror covers in that time. I was planning on attending the San Diego meet last week, but I had to cancel due to the family tragedy. I'm still a bit morose, but I'm trying to get motivated enough to jump back into the mirror cover project. Not much has changed since my last update. The initial prototypes have been created from the first set of molds, but the molds still need a lot of refining. They are good for a first set, though. I don't half-***** anything, so I won't settle for anything but the best quality products for my vx, as well as yours. Usually my first set of molds for a project are not as clean as these are though, so that is good news. It means less work in refining the molds. I create everything by hand initially, so it is more craft than science. Once I have a very clean, precise set of molds, I'll have a machined set (or multiple sets) of identical specs made to actually produce the final products... but that is still a few steps down the road. For now, I'm still sculpting away, testing, molding and shaping the products. I'll let you know when I have new news, and I'll post some pictures when they are taking a more presentable, final shape, so you all can get an idea of what we're looking at. I think you'll all be very impressed. As always, thank you all for your interest and your support.
