Executing the port out of the rear of that filter box is exactly the plan. Only thing is, going directly to the MAF from there is a bad idea. Too little moisture will be block without an inline snorkel/drain pot. Using that intake air box and also the stock box appears to be even safer than just stock alone, even with a high flow fliter in the intake air box. Less debris, less moisture, and more cool, fresh air!!! Idealy, the filter box should be just under the intake scoop and with as little porting possible to the engine though.
