How much lift is needed to fit.....

I'm curious how much lift I would need to fit 33x12.5x16 TSL-SSR series tires on my Eagle alloy rims. Would 2.5"-3" be enough? How can I get an extra inch to inch and a half of lift if these won't fit with a lift: either 912 springs (2.5") or Calmini (3"). I have trimmed the front of the front fender already to fit my 31x11.5x16 but I don't really want to trim anything off of the back of the front wheel well. Can I even go 12.5" wide? If not I guess I will go with the 32x11.5x16's. The tires I have now stick out about an inch how it is on the same rim these are to be mounted on. Rim dimensions are below...

    SIZE: 16x10
    FINISH: Polished
    PATTERN: 6 on 5.5
    OFFSET: -24 mm
    BSM: 4.50
    CAP: N/I
    LOAD: 3420 lbs.
    WEIGHT: 23 lbs.

    pic of tire:

    Thanks in advance,
    Alan

2001 Ironman Daily Driver... 3.5" suspension lift (OME912 springs and 1" spring spacer), ball joint flip, 1.5" front diff. drop, 33"x12.5 TrXus MT, 16x10 Eagle Alloy rims, Interceptor, PV muffler, K&N air filter, Alpine Supercharger, Bilstein shocks, and some trimming.

2000 Ironman Project LS-1 VX... very slow progress but someday....... ohhhhh someday......

23 LBS???? wow that is one light tire....

get the OME 919 it is stiffer and taller than the other OMEs (912, 913)

I ran the 305/70/16 (approx 33" tall and 11.5" wide) with only a 3" Calmini lift and had no rubbing in the rear at all . stock rims

In the front I had to trimm just a little....1/4" off the front lower corners. AND turn back the steering-stop-bolts a little to keep the tires from hitting the frame at full lock

I say go for the 33s, you wont regret it, the VX does have rather large wheel-wells.

33s are about the limit for the front axles/CVs, though.

I know I'm retarded for buying them, its hard to find tires that fit it. I was just thinking (they look cool) that I needed a wide wheel to fit wide tires and the shop just wanted to make a sale. Oh well... it forces me to lift it so I can find tires that fit, darn

Here is another tire I am interested in (TrXus MT). Can anyone give me insight on fitting 33x12.5xR16 under the VX with Calmini lift? Will this fit with above mentioned rim? I'm sure someone has fit 33x12.5's could you tell me how much you needed to trim?

Just not sure if this will work with my rims, especially with the offroading I do. How much of a difference does a 16x10.5" rim with 33x12.5's compared to a 16x8" with 33x12.5's? I really need to work with the rims I have, I don't have the funds to buy other rims and the ones I have really look good IMO. I don't want steel rims, I am trying to do some car shows this summer and want the shiny ones. Is it possible to fix with spacers or something, anything? Please tell me what I can do to make this work!

If only someone produced a 1-1/2" axle drop it would solve the problem correct?

10 inches and a -24mm offset is nuts.

No offense intended by that, but it's just not a good combination for the VX.

Just a wild guess, but I'd say you'd be lucky to get 32" on there with that offset and width.

That's honestly just a guess, though.

Put some MT baja 31x13.50 . You keep the agility of the VX and get that wide tire look. Sorta like a RC VX but life size!

I had 31x11.5 MT baja's on there and am going to lift my VX next month, just looking for a taller tire that will work wiht my rims. Thanks for the suggestion though
