Hmmm...It should be cool on displacement since they sell the same filter specifically for the Maxima (also a 3.5). Don't know about quality though....maybe I should stick to K&N? The heat shield isn't for outside air, it's to shield the filter from engine heat. If you pull your stock airbox AND intake elbow, and point the end of the filter directly at the hole, in theory it sucks cold air from outside the engine compartment without the air being heated up along the way...note "in theory."
