I'm one to buy the mod & cross my fingers. None of my vehicles stayed stock for long! Window tint, performance mods, whatever... it's fun making it unique. I was told by a few that I'm GOING to get pulled over because my new VX tires stick out a bit, and once had to sign a waiver at a motorcycle shop that my new exhaust system was "for off road only".I have the break light flasher (wasn't going to get it until I saw it on others' in Moab), and have (knock on wood) never had a problem in Chicago, Vegas, Colorodo, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Boston, etc. It may irritate some people (sorry Yal
), but the attention-getting benefits are worth it.
Oh, and the police issue... most are cool (and motorcycle/automobile enthusiasts too), and I'd rather have them than not. My friend Jenny got us pulled over for speeding in New York state, but the officer didn't say anything about the flasher (which he HAD to see 'cuz she stood on the brakes) and ended up letting us off. Kewl!
