    Code P0304

Does anyone know how bad it is to keep driving if the chk engine light comes on and flashes?
The code it's throwing is P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire. It t keeps coming on within 2-3 mins of starting car. I don't drive it but was just wondering how serious it is. Also I don't know where to start on solving the issue(s). Does the engine need to be rebuilt or ???. Any advice would be appreciated.

    From the manual (shortened version):

If the Check engine light is steady, the problem was intermittent and “should” go away after 40 starts.

If the Check engine light is flashing, the problem is reoccurring and needs attention to prevent damage to the cam. May also cause damage to catalytic converter.

    Diagnostics:

    1) Check for cracks or leaks in all vacuum lines.
    2) Check for leaks in all intake manifold gaskets.
    3) Check the o-ring around the injector for damage.
    4) Check the spark plug and coil pack.

If all of the above checks out, change the injector.

    Probably no need for rebuild.

How would you go about checking the coil pack? Just for cracks etc? Oh and thanks for the advice, I'm going to try and find some time to work on it tomorrow.

The coil packs rarely go bad. Mainly just pull it and check for loose or corroded connections, even the one to the spark plug.

If it looks OK...You could swap it to another cylinder. If it's the coil pack, the fault will move to that cylinder.
